The first part of today's quiz will have you creating a google doc and sharing it with Mr. Witsil. Here are the directions:
Create the Doc: 1. Create a Google Doc. 2. Name the Google Doc: "Block.LastName, FirstName - Biotic Quiz" 3. Share the document with [email protected]. Format your Doc: 4. On the top line, write your name (on the left) and today's date on the right. 5. On the second line type, "Intro to Life Open Response Answers." 6. Then skip a line before you start the questions. Questions: 1. List the 7 characteristics of life. Create a numbered list and put each characteristic on a separate line. 2. Create a table that is 4 columns wide and 6 rows long. Enter the column headers: "Living," "Dead," "Dormant," and "Nonliving." In the rows below each header list 5 examples of objects that represent each category. 3. Answer the following question in complete sentences. Imagine that you are a scientist and you have stumbled onto an object that you are not sure is living or nonliving. Explain the steps you would take to determine whether the object exhibits the characteristic of life, "Takes in Nutrients and exchanges gases." Monday - Biotic vs. AbioticContent Objective: 1.We will explore biotic and abiotic factors. 2.We will understand how to apply making qualitative observations. Homework: Complete the following reflection in your notebook: "Walk around your backyard, front yard, or some other outdoor space. Identify and list at least 10 biotic factors and list at least 10 abiotic factors. Then, choose 2 biotic factors and explain how you know they are biotic factors and choose two abiotic factors and explain how you know they are abiotic factors."
